Pacific Palisades Homeless Task Force Meeting September 15

The Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness (PPTFH) will hold a community meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Palisades Library community room, 861 Alma Real.

The PPTFH’s new officers will be introduced and the progress of its application for 501(c) 3 nonprofit status will be explained.

Speakers will include LAPD Officers Rusty Redican and Quenten Blanton, who will update the law enforcement work being done on the town’s beaches, bluffs and hillsides.

Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC) social workers Glanda Sherman and Maureen Rivas, who have been in the field with the Palisades homeless since January, will report on their work (supported financially by the PPTFH) and share some success stories.

The PPTFH will present Google Maps that will show locations that allow law enforcement and the Outreach Team to identify and remove encampments, while offering services to the homeless.

The program will also allow time for feedback and discussion. Time will be devoted to questions, concerns and priorities of the audience.
