Palisades Holiday Season Underway

Santa Claus Is Coming

Santa Claus will visit Pacific Palisades from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 5. He and Mrs. Claus will ride into town on the Station 69 fire truck and join the festivities on Swarthmore. There will be cookie decorating, music, a face painter, picture coloring, a balloon man and a coffee cart. The entire family is invited to join the fun at the annual Holiday Ho!Ho!Ho!

Santa must leave promptly at 8 p.m.to return to the North Pole to continue overseeing the elves and toy making, and feed the reindeer. If you want to help Santa, you may bring a new unwrapped toy to the event, which will be given to Ocean Park Community Center (Santa Monica shelter).

The event is presented by the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Rodeo Realty, Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club, Botham Plumbing and Heating, TMC General Contractors and Caruso Affiliated.

Village Green Tree Lighting

The Palisades Village Green Committee invites kids and adults (who are kids at heart) to the Village Green on Friday, Dec. 5, between 4:50 and 5:15 p.m. for the annual holiday tree lighting.

“While we realize our tree isn’t the tallest or most famous one around, and it is a little crooked, we love it anyway because it is our own town’s tree,” said committee president Marge Gold.

The tree lighting will happen when Santa Claus rides by on the Station 69 fire truck on his way to Swarthmore for the annual Chamber of Commerce Holiday Ho!Ho!Ho! and stops to point, using his magic powers to turn the lights on.

“Let’s all come out to usher in the holiday season and enjoy a festive evening,” Gold said.
