The Play By John Bishop Centers on the Creative Team Behind a Recent Broadway Flop
“The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” a play by John Bishop, will be staged from May 31 to June 30 at the Pierson Playhouse.
The story centers on the creative team behind a recent Broadway flop. In this production, the team gathers at the estate of a wealthy backer for an audition of their new show. The mansion, filled with sliding panels, secret passageways, and a German maid who appears to be four different people, becomes the setting for a series of comic and deadly events.
The “Slasher” makes a dramatic return, striking repeatedly as the team prepares for their performance. Despite the interference of a bumbling police inspector who arrives on snowshoes, the mystery is ultimately solved, and the “Slasher” is unmasked just in time.
General admission tickets are going for $22 while the student/senior price is $20. The Pierson Playhouse is located at 941 Temescal Canyon Rd.
