Palisades Crime: Hidden Key Burglary, Several Thefts

The following Oct. 31, 2016 crime report was supplied by LAPD Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore of the West L.A. Division. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

GRAND THEFT AUTO

30 Haldeman Rd, btwn 10/26/16 at 7:30 PM and 10/27/16 at 7:45 AM. The suspect took victim’s unlocked vehicle (with keys inside) from the street.

BURGLARY/THEFT from MOTOR VEHICLE 

• Sunset/Pacific Coast Hwy, 10/29/16 btwn 4 PM and 6:30 PM. The suspect used victim’s “hidden” key to enter victim’s vehicle and took money, a cell phone, and credit cards.
• 600 Bienveneda Ave, btwn 10/21/16 at 5 PM and 10/23/16 at 8 AM. The suspect entered victim’s unlocked vehicle and took a purse.
• 16100 Sunset, btwn 10/17/16 at 5:30 AM and 10/21/16 at 1:50 PM. The suspect entered victim’s vehicle and took money and sunglasses.
• Sunset/Temescal Canyon, 10/22/16 btwn 1:30 PM and 3:15 PM. The suspect smashed a window on victim’s vehicle and took a wallet.
• 900 Las Lomas Ave, btwn 10/20/16 at 8:30 PM and 10/21/16 at 6:30 AM. The suspect pried open the hood of victim’s vehicle and took the car battery and alternator.
• 30 Haldeman Rd, btwn 10/22/16 at 4 PM and 10/23/16 at 12 PM. The suspect entered victim’s vehicle and took a jacket and money.
• 600 Swarthmore, btwn 10/16/16 at 10 PM and 10/17/16 at 8 AM. The suspect entered victim’s vehicle and took a laptop computer, clothing, and a suitcase.
• 800 Galloway, 10/16/16 btwn 11:25 AM and 12 PM. The suspect pried open a window on victim’s vehicle and took a wallet, money, and gift cards.

BURGLARY 

800 Greentree Rd, 10/27/16 btwn 7 AM and 8 AM. The suspect (female Hispanic, burgundy hair, 5’2″ 20/25 years)  smashed a window to enter victim’s home and moved a safe but did not take any property.

THEFT

• 15400 Sunset, 10/26/16 at 3:30 PM. A 68 year old female was arrested for petty theft after shoplifting at victim’s business.
• 16000 Pacific Coast Hwy, 10/21/16 btwn 11:45 AM and 2:45 PM. The suspect cut a bicycle lock and took victim’s bicycle.
• 30 Haldeman Rd, 10/23/16 btwn 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The suspect entered victim’s rental unit and took jewelry.
• 1300 Marinette Rd, btwn 10/3/16 at 6 PM and 10/10/16 at 9 AM. The suspect (possibly housekeepers) took victim’s jewelry from victim’s bedroom.
• 600 Bienveneda Ave, btwn 10/13/16 at 12 PM and 10/14/16 at 3 PM. The suspect took clothing from a delivered package.
• 300 Surfview, btwn 10/23/16 at 6 PM and 10/16/16 at 5 PM. The suspect took jewelry from victim’s bedroom while victim’s home was under construction.

VANDALISM 

500 Palisades Dr, 10/27/16 at 9 AM. The suspect cut a ring out of a tree on victim’s property.

OTHER CRIMES

DUI 

• Sunset/Temescal Canyon, 10/30/16 at 4:28 AM. A 23-year-old male was arrested for DUI after being involved in a traffic collision.
• 17300 Sunset, 10/26/16 at 2:08 AM. A 25-year-old male was arrested for DUI while officers were investigating a disturbance.

Prowler 

800 Fiske, 10/19/16 at 2:30 AM. The suspect (male black, brown hair, 5’11” 165 lb, 35/50 years) attempted to unlock/enter a gate to victim’s backyard.
