The PaliHi girls volleyball team continues to dominate the Western League, leading the way with eight straight wins.
The Dolphins, coached by Carlos Gray, defeated Hamilton (3-0) on Oct. 13, and faced third-place University High School at home on Monday this week (results unavailable at presstime). Their final regular season home match is against Westchester on Oct. 24.
Like many Pali teams, girls volleyball seeks tougher competition outside of league play and competed in the California Challenge Tournament Oct. 7-8 in San Diego.
During pool play, the Dolphins faced some of the toughest teams in the tournament: Eastlake (Silver Bracket champs), Cathedral Catholic (Bronze Bracket champs) and Marymount (third in the Championship bracket).
After losing in its pool, PaliHi went on to win the Competitive Bracket by defeating Le Jardin, Trabuco and Capo Valley.
