The 80-member Palisades High School Marching Band won the 2014 Southern California Schools Band and Orchestra Association 3A division on Saturday, November 22 at Chino. Going into the competition they were ranked fourth, but managed to defeat 11 other bands, including Valencia High School, which was ranked first. The competition was by invitation only, based on prior competition wins. Students will perform their 20-minute show, Aaron Copland’s Billy the Kid, at 7 p.m., tonight, December 3, at the PaliHi football stadium. The community presentation is free. Photo: Mark Galasso
