The Pacific Palisades Art Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at Aldersgate Retreat Center, 925 Haverford Ave. Speaker Helene Fox will demonstrate how to restore furniture.
Fox joined Zenteak, a furniture importer specializing in island living, vintage and rustic designs in 2014. With her help, the company, owned and operated by John Yon, was rebranded a year later. The business, @Zen, was launched with the motto: Every piece of furniture is an affordable and functional artistic expression that brings beauty to your most important surrounding . . . your home.
Fox grew up in Santa Monica and attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she received her associate of arts degree in product development and international business. She continued her studies at Portland State University in business administration, marketing and finance.
Returning to Los Angeles, Fox began a career in broadcast radio at KROQ station where she studied, wrote and was engulfed in music before moving to talk radio and working for KFWB News 980. There she became the show and technical producer for Business Rockstars, a radio program that promoted and supported entrepreneurship, before moving to @Zen.
“I’m happy to have found a way to combine my passion for art and business,” Fox said.
