Barbara Kohn, former Pacific Palisades Community Council president and Palisades Design Review Board president, has been appointed to participate as a committee member for the oversight of money allocated through Proposition K.
Appointed by Councilman Mike Bonin, Kohn will participate in the budget deliberation process for the Proposition K: L.A. for Kids program, as a member of the Central Regional Volunteer Neighborhood Oversight Committee (RVNOC).
Committee members will provide funding recommendations for Proposition K projects that will help in the development of a preliminary five-year expenditure plan. Generated funds are used for the acquisition, maintenance, construction and improvement of City parks and recreation facilities.
Each RVNOC body will have an opportunity to indicate scheduling preference for touring prospective project sites, and those having a majority of its members present will be able to select a chairperson. Subsequent meetings will focus on funding deliberations for the upcoming fiscal year.
