The Pacific Palisades Community Council is seeking residents to serve as second alternates in Area 1 (north of Sunset and west of Palisades Drive), Area 7 (Rustic, Santa Monica and lower Rivas Canyon and Will Rogers) and Area 8 (Riviera to Allenford).
Additionally, after Jim Rea withdrew as the first alternate candidate for Area 3 (Marquez Knolls and the Bel-Air Bay Club), a new person is being sought for that position. Anyone who previously applied for an alternate position in Area 3 need not resubmit a statement, but should send an e-mail indicating that he or she would like to be considered for the first position based on the statement previously submitted.
Community council elections were held in September for a representative in each of the eight areas of Pacific Palisades and one at-large representative. After seats were filled, residents who either ran in the initial election or were interested in serving on this volunteer board were asked to submit an application to become an alternate if the area representative is unable to at- tend a meeting.
Per the PPCC bylaws, the Three Chairs Committee (this year consisting of past presidents Shirley Haggstrom, Richard Cohen and Barbara Kohn) will review the applications and make choices based on service to the community.
Interested parties are asked to submit statements (any length) that include a biographical background and reason for applying. The statement must include the area one lives in and be sent to info@pacpalicc.org by January 4.
