With less than a week before July 4, PAPA (the parade/concert/fireworks organizing committee) is looking for dependable adult volunteers to help with ticket booths at Palisades High School after the parade and during the Palisades Rocks the 4th concert.

Help is needed outside the gate between Mercer Hall and the swimming pool off Temescal Canyon Road, and between Gilbert Hall and the school parking lot off El Medio.

PAPA President Daphne Gronich said that many of her regular volunteers are away, and the situation is dire.

“I hope residents will volunteer to help collect the ticket fees [$10 per person for the concert and fireworks] that help pay for this community celebration,” Gronich said.

The change in venue from the football stadium to the baseball field means that tickets will be required for access.

“I’m requesting that people let me know if they can help for several hours between 4 and 9 p.m.,” Gronich said. “I’m trying to create a schedule, so I need to know when and for how long people can help.”
