With more than $135 million sales in 2015, Anthony Marguleas of Amalfi Estates was ranked first among Pacific Palisades-based realtors and 60th in the nation by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends in July.
A year ago, Marguleas was ranked 100th among The Thousand Top Real Estate Pro- fessionals, a national ranking sponsored annually by the WSJ and REAL Trends, a Denver-based source of analysis and information for the residential real estate bro- kerage industry.
The top 250 residential agents and agent teams nationwide are honored for excel- lence in four separate categories: Individual Sales Professionals (sales volume), Individual Sales Professionals (transaction sides), Team Professionals (sales volume) and Team Professionals (transaction sides).
“I’m quite honored to be named to The Thousand,” said Marguleas, who serves clients primarily in the Pacific Palisades, Brentwood and Santa Monica areas. “It’s incredibly gratifying to help our clients find their dream homes as well as help them sell their properties quickly and for the highest price possible.”
So far this year, Marguleas has already closed or has in escrow $123 million in transactions.
A Pacific Palisades resident since 1992, he leads an office on Monument that donates 10 percent of net commissions to one of five charities Marguleas supports: American Cancer Society (Health), Make a Wish Foundation (Kids), SPCA LA (Pets), P.A.T.H. (Homelessness) and Homeboy Industries (Local).
“It’s about having a relationship with your client and honoring that relationship with a charitable donation from each home sale,” said Marguleas, who is raising four children with his wife, Sue. “Our goal is to give $1 million to these amazing charities. We have given away $382,000 so far.”
Marguleas lives by the motto: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
The Top Thousand rankings are compiled based on surveys from virtually every national and branded network, Multiple Listing Services, all applicants from past years’ rankings and the 900 largest brokerage firms in the U.S.
