Playwrights Festival Final Show Is April 26

The final night of the Seventh Annual Palisades Playwrights Festival is Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Pierson Playhouse, 941 Temescal Canyon Road. Admission is $5 and includes free wine and nibbles at 7 p.m.

The final play, The Losers’ Club, is by Virginia Mekkelson and directed by Ria Erlich.

Four desperate people are looking for jobs and are hired by Mr. Dunkirk, who creates new businesses and then sells them off. Things are not going well for our main characters until one morning a crocodile is delivered in error to their office; suddenly, a wonderful new business opportunity opens up for the Losers’ Club.

Mekkelson is a longtime playwright and musical theater librettist.

Her nonfiction handbook, Musical Theatre: Secrets of the Great Shows, is available for download from Amazon/Kindle. Her new novel, The Sunset Bar, is about a bar that moves to a new sunset every hour, and so goes around the world. The book is available from Amazon in soft cover or as an e-book.
