San Lorenzo Cemetery Beautification Planned

Citizen of the Year Sharon Kilbride, who lives in the Santa Monica Canyon home that she grew up in, on property that has been in the family since 1839, is organizing a cleanup and beautification of the family cemetery at 637 San Lorenzo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.

“Family and friends, please join us. This year we will NOT need any weed whackers,” Kilbride said. “We will need loopers, pruners, chainsaw, trowels, shovels and hoes.”

Handcrafted crosses designed by Kilbride’s cousin Ernie Marquez have been installed. “We are asking that you bring a succulent to plant in the mass burial site. (Please no cacti with spines or thorns),” Kilbride said. “If you have any large rocks that you would like to donate the bigger the better. Small rocks will also be appreciated.”
