Brentwood, Palisades, and West LA Branch Libraries Weekly Events Update

Check Out This Week’s Schedule of Activities and Storytimes

Brentwood Branch Library is gearing up for a quiet Wednesday this week with adjustments to its usual programming. There will be no storytime this week or the following week, and STAR volunteer Bonnie is currently on vacation. However, the library is set to offer its regular Brick Building Playtime and CrEATive Plates Kids’ Cooking Class on Saturday.

While registration for Saturday’s cooking class is already full, interested participants can still join the waitlist for possible openings here. Here’s what’s on the agenda for the remainder of the week:

  • Tuesday, 5/7, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Alicia
  • Thursday, 5/9 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Brick-Building Playtime
  • Thursday, 5/9, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Camille
  • Saturday, 5/11 at 11:00 a.m.: CrEATive Plates Kids’ Cooking Class (registration full, join the waitlist)

In addition to Brentwood Branch Library’s schedule, the Palisades Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library also has upcoming events:

Baby & Toddler Storytime:

  • The First Wednesday of the Month at 10:15 a.m. (January 10*, February 7, March 13*, April 10*, May 1, & June 5)

Family Storytime:

  • The Third Thursday of the Month at 4 p.m. (January 18, February 15, March 21, April 18, May 16, & June 20)

These storytimes at the Palisades Branch Library cater to various age groups and provide more than just a reading experience. They create opportunities for shared experiences between children and their guardians, fostering a sense of connection and engagement within our community.

Additionally, the West LA Library, located at 11360 Santa Monica Blvd, offers the following programs:

  • Mondays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.: STAR volunteer reads one-on-one with kids
  • Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Baby and toddler storytime
  • Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: STAR volunteer reads one-on-one with kids
  • Thursdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Kids’ storytime and programs for all ages
