The Los Angeles Conservation Corps began a series of major cleanup and beautification projects in Pacific Palisades, with crews kicking off efforts at Las Casas Park and Trail. Workers started clearing dry, burned brush from the hillside to reopen a pathway to the beach and reduce fire fuel, a task expected to take a couple of weeks.
Councilwoman Traci Park, present at the site, highlighted the project’s dual purpose of restoring public access and enhancing fire safety. “They are going to be clearing all of this dry and burned brush and shrubs off of the hillside and opening up the pathway and reconnecting it to the trail that goes down to the beach so that people can actually start using this park again for recreational purposes and help us manage the fuel for fire safety purposes,” she said in an Instagram video.
The initiative aims to restore the area following recent fire damage.
Over the next several months, LACC plans to expand the effort to other locations in the Palisades, focusing on debris removal and public area restoration. Park encouraged residents to stay tuned for progress updates as the work continues.
