Los Angeles County Beaches & Harbors continues to find ways to educate the public on how they can help prevent beach pollution. Third, fourth, and fifth graders who reside in the County of Los Angeles are invited to enter the Can the Trash! Clean Beach Poster Contest. Contest winners will have their artwork displayed around trash barrels on the beach.
To enter, students can submit their artwork online, in person, or by mail. The contest is open until January 12, 2020. The winners for the 2019 cycle announced so far are: Sean Yoo, Nayeli Franco, Matilda Vidal, Mark Goldstein, Jane Luce, Chelsea Lee, Claire Chan, Adam Shen, Andrew Kim, and Amelia De La Torre.
ShuTing Pan, Rushil Shah, Jyoshita Nair, Jensyne Estanislao, and Elena Carli are winners from the Third District which encompasses residents in Pacific Palisades. To learn more, visit: https://beaches.lacounty.gov/postercontest/
