A prominent annual ranking list of high schools has analyzed just how Palisades Charter High School compares to others across California and the U.S.

In its 2024 Best High Schools list, U.S. News & World Report ranked schools across the nation based on factors including student performance on math, reading and science assessments; participation in AP exams; and graduation rates.

According to the list, Palisades Charter High School ranks 110th among L.A. Metro high schools, 249th in California, 310th among all STEM high schools and 1,760th across the nation. This list is out of 17,655 schools nationally and 1,652 across California.

Quality education is ordinary for L.A.’s Westside, as Pali Charter is sandwiched in between two other high schools who also landed highly on the significant list.

The recent U.S. News & World Report list ranked Santa Monica High School 48th among all Los Angeles and Orange County high schools, 120th in California and 850th in the country. Malibu High School also scored prominently. It ranked 26th among L.A. metro schools, 77th in California and 573rd nationally.

Among California schools, Pali Charter ranked 150th under the “College Readiness Index” and 665th in “Graduation Rank”.

With a 9-12 enrollment of 2,959, Pali Charter has a minority enrollment rating of 46.8%, 26% who are “economically disadvantaged”, an AP participation rate of 58% and 24% who are under the free lunch program. For a full review of the U.S. News & World Report ranking, go to https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/california/districts/palisades-charter-high-district/palisades-charter-high-school-2604.
