Will Rogers Run Foundation Donates $40K to Local Charities

The Funds Come from Proceeds From the 2023 July 4th Run

The Palisades-Will Rogers 5 & 10K Run Foundation will distribute $40,000 in proceeds from the 2023 July 4th Run to support local charitable, educational and community benefit programs.

The PWR Foundation collaborates with the Palisades Optimist Foundation and the Optimist Club of Pacific Palisades to select qualified organizations for grants, according to a news release. The selection criteria include the impact on youth in Pacific Palisades, the number of youths affected, the program’s effectiveness, and its longevity.

2024 Grant Recipients and Their Community Purposes:

  • Brentwood Art Center: Supplies for Summer Art Camp for Youth
  • Foster Warriors: Self-esteem program for foster youth taught by ex-Navy SEALS in Palisades
  • Friends of Marquez: Enrich L.A. Garden Program at Marquez Elementary
  • Optimist Foundation: Scholarships for college incidental costs for Palisades Youth
  • Optimist Intl. Oratorical Contest: Youth Oratorical Contest in Palisades
  • Optimist Youth Home: Support for youth in the Optimist Youth Home
  • Pacific Palisades Art Association: Community programs at the local library
  • Pali High Band: Instrument repairs
  • Pali High Booster Club: Upgrades for Pali High Chemistry Lab
  • Pali Quarterback Club: Essential sports medical supplies for young athletes
  • Palisades Presbyterian Preschool: Updating playground equipment
  • Palisades Village Green: Special trimming to reduce tree crown size
  • Palisades YMCA: Teen programs and a youth track meet
  • CSEC Intervention Program: Support for sexually-exploited youth
  • Pacific Palisades Americanism Parade Association: Pacific Palisades 4th of July Parade
  • Resilient Palisades: Various community programs
  • Theater Palisades Youth: Youth theater class and incidentals
