Los Angeles County Rent Relief Program Opens Second Round of Applications

Applications Accepted Until June 4, Funding and Support Have Been Increased

The Los Angeles County Rent Relief Program (LARRP) has opened its application portal for the second round of assistance, officials announced today. The portal will remain open until Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 4:59 PM PDT. Applications can be submitted online at lacountyrentrelief.com.

To assist applicants, community partners are offering free webinars and technical assistance in multiple languages. Interested parties can register for these sessions at lacountyrentrelief.com/webinars-and-events. Those who participated in the first round are encouraged to complete any outstanding tasks and can contact the Rent Relief Customer Call Center at (877) 849-0770 for expedited processing. The Call Center operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM PDT.

The Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) will prioritize applications from vulnerable tenants and properties in high-need areas. Potential applicants are advised to apply early, though it is important to note that applying does not guarantee funding.

Applicants who have previously been awarded a grant from the program will have their existing applications reviewed for potential additional assistance with rental debt. If eligible, they will be notified by the program. Reapplying is discouraged as it may cause delays in processing.

LARRP, which originally launched on December 12, 2023, continues to provide vital financial support to landlords affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program, led by the LA County Board of Supervisors and administered by The Center by Lendistry, has seen its funding increase by $6.7 million, totaling over $74 million available for qualified landlords. Eligible landlords can apply for up to $30,000 per rental unit to cover past-due rent and eligible expenses dating back to April 1, 2022.
